The Gogebic County Seat Post 3673 is located in Bessemer, Michigan. Bessemer is situated on the far western end of Michigan's Upper peninsula about seven miles east of the Michigan/Wisconsin border. Highway US 2 is the major highway connection running through Bessemer. Bessemer has a population of approximately 2000. It is a small town with good, friendly people nestled in a rural setting. Bessemer is located in the the middle of "Big Snow Country" with five majore ski hills located in the area. Copper Peak ski flying hill, the only such hill in the Western Hemisphere, is located nine miles to the north of Bessemer. Bessemer is host to many activities and celebrations. The community provides the largest 4th of July celebration for miles around which features entertainment on the main street, a demolition derby, a poker run, an F-16 fly-over, a giant parade, and the always impressive Thunder on the Mountain fireworks display.
